(54) Process and apparatus for use with pressurized reactors


(57) A carbonaceous slurry, an oxygen-containing gas, fuel gas and, optionally, temperature moderators are fed contemporaneously and selectively into a pressurized partial oxidation zone via a process burner providing internal uniform dispersion of the carbonaceous slurry into the oxygen-containing gas and high atomization of the dispersed carbonaceous slurry. The process burner also provides dispersion of the fuel gas into the oxygen-containing gas exteriorly of the process burner.
