(57) An apparatus for bending sheet-like work pieces comprise a main frame, a die having
a longitudinally extending groove, a stamp, a stop for determining the position of
a work piece with respect to the die, clamping means for clamping a working piece
and a frame. The frame supports the stop and the clamping means and is pivotably around
a pivot axis substantially coinciding with the groove of the die. Further the apparatus
includes a lifting arm for the work pieces pivotably connected with the main frame.
The frame is pivoted into a position extending obliquely downwardly form the pivot
axis and a work piece is picked up from a storage location by the lifting arm and
is laid on the obliquely pivoted frame Thereby the work piece automatically shifts
against the stop. whereafter the work piece is clamped in the position as determined
by the stop and the frame is pivoted into a substantially horizontal position.
