[0001] The present invention concerns a water collector provided with a universal base,
for an elastic insertion, for the top of any umbrella.
[0002] It is known that when the rain-wet umbrellas are closed, considerable quantity of
water rolls down, in forms of drops, due to the contraction of the umbrella's sticks,
and this causes dirtening of floors, moquettes, carpets, automobile carpets and similar.
[0003] For overcoming said inconvenience, some umbrellas have been provided with a small
cup, out of one piece with the umbrella's top, that will receive the rolling down
water drops.
[0004] It is the aim of the present invention to realize a water collector, separated from
the umbrella and that may be applied to the tops of different dimensions of different
umbrellas in a quick, easy and efficient way.
[0005] The aim is reached by means of the collector according to the present invention,
consisting in an approximately cylindric shape being closed at the lower part thereof
and having an upper wall of truncated cone shape, open for the collection of the rolling
down water drops, comprising two internal cylindrical baffles that will allow the
insertion and cause the elastic contraction of the umbrella's top, thus being fixable
at two superposed points.
[0006] The evident advantages consist in the possibility of immediately applying and removing
the collector from the umbrella and in the possibility of applying said collector
to umbrellas of any dimensions.
[0007] The present invention will be described hereinbelow according to the enclosed drawings,
showing one preferred embodiment thereof.
Figure 1 shows a perspective, transparency view of a water collector with universal
elastic base.
Figure 2 shows a perspective, exploded view of the components.
figure 3 shows a water collector according to the present invention applied to the
top of an umbrella
[0008] Referring to the details of the figures, the collector consists in the collector
structure 1 for the rolling down water drops, being closed in correspondence with
the lower cup 2, and having the upper edge 3 thereof of truncated cone shape for the
collection of water drops and similar, provided with an inner rest 4 and with small
inner projections 5 and 6 for the housing of cylindrical end baffle 7 and of the upper
cylindrical baffle 8 of greater diameter, both comprising small elastic blades 9
out of one piece with the edges and free in correspondence with the central end,
suitable for being elastically opened by the insertion of the tops with different
diameters, with the consequent blocking of the same.
[0009] The main feature of the present invention consists in that said small blades 9 are
out of once piece with the inner edge of structure 1, while the free end thereof
is tangent to the central circumfrerence for the housing of the top P of the umbrella
so that, even if the dimension of said top, and therefore the diameter of said central
circumference will change, said small blades 9 will remain always tangent and elastically
close to said top P.
[0010] In the case of very short tops P, it is evident that the sole contraction of small
blades 9 of the upper baffle 8 proves to be sufficient to make the water collector
out of one piece with the top which obviously does not reach the end baffle 7.
1. A water collector with universal elastic base for the connection to the top of
any umbrella, characterized in a rolling down water drops collection structure (1),
closed in correspondence to a lower cup (2) and having an upper edge (3) of truncated
cone shape for the collection of the drops and similar, provided with an inner rest
(4) and with small inner projections (5 and 6) for the housing of an end cylindrical
baffle (7) and of an upper cylindrical baffle (8) of greater diameter, both comprising
small elastic blades (9) out of one piece at the edges and free in correspondence
to the central end, wherein said small blades may be elastically opened by the insertion
of tops of different diameters, with the consequent blocking of the same.
2. A water collector according to claim 1, characterized in that said small blades
(9) are out of one piece with the inner edge of said structure (1), while the free
end thereof is tangent to the central circumference for the housing of the top (P)
of the umbrella, so that even if the dimension of said top, and therefore the diameter
of said central circumference, will change, said small blades (9) will always remain
tangent and elastically gripping said top (P).
