    (54) Freezing house

    (57) A freezing house is provided, comprising a roof and wall construction, which exists of a support construction (1) and an insulating layer (2). The insulating layer (2), that is preferably positioned at the outer side of the support construction (1), exists of a double-walled flexible insulation cover which is filled with an insulating material (3). The support construction (1) can comprise a dismountable steel construction.

    Description

[0001] The invention relates to a freezing house comprising a roof and wall construction, said construction existing of a support construction and an insulating layer.

[0002] In a known freezing house of this type the support construction comprises steel beams, that are mounted on a pile-driven foundation. The insulating layer of this known freezing house comprises insulated panels, that are composed of metal walls and an insulating material provided thereinbetween. These insulated panels are attached to the outer side of said steel beams.

[0003] This known freezing house suffers from a number of drawbacks. Because for providing the steel beams a pile-drive operation has to be carried out and because a foundation has to be fitted the building time and the building expenses of this known freezing house are rather high. Furthermore with this known freezing house there is a risk that the bottom is going to freze up. Because of this freezing up the bottom expands and the entire freezing house is raised and distorted. To prevent this most times heating pipes are provided in the floor of the freezing house, which further increase the building expenses.

[0004] It is an object of the invention to provide a freezing house of this type, in which the above mentioned drawbacks are taken away in a simple but nevertheless effective way.

[0005] Therefore the freezing house according to the invention is characterized in that the insulating layer exists of a double-walled flexible insulating cover, which is filled with an insulating material and which can be attached to the support construction.

[0006] Because the insulating layer exists of a double-walled flexible insulation cover no risk exists that the freezing house can be distorted by freezing up of the bottom. Therefore the provision of heating pipes in the floor of the freezing house is superfluous, just as carrying out pile-drive operations and fitting a foundation.

[0007] According to a preferred embodiment of the freezing house according to the invention the support construction comprises a dismountable steel construction. In this way the time needed for building the freezing house according to the invention is substantially reduced, whereas now the possibility arises to bring the freezing house to the product that has to be frozen in instead of bringing said product towards the freezing house, thereby substantially reducing the transportation expenses.

[0008] In a further preferred embodiment of the freezing house according to the invention the floor surface of the freezing house consists of an insulating and sealing layer, wherein for example the insulating and sealing layer comprises a plastic film that is positioned below the freezing house, wherein the edges of the film are sealingly attached to the lowermost edge portions of the insulation cover, the layer further comprising an insulating material provided on said plastic film.

[0009] By using such an insulating and sealing layer at the floor surface of the freezing house a substantially air tight space is formed, substantially reducing the running costs below those of the known freezing house.

[0010] Moreover, it is possible that the insulating material provided like this exists of insulating sheets, such as polystyrene sheets.

[0011] Furthermore, granular polystyrene can be applied as insulating material in the insulation cover.

[0012] Hereafter the invention will be explained further by means of the drawing, in which a number of embodiments of the freezing house according to the invention are illustrated.

Fig. 1 shows a first embodiment of the freezing house according to the invention in a sectional view, and

fig. 2 shows a part of a second embodiment of the freezing house according to the invention in a sectional view.

[0013] The freezing house shown in fig. 1 comprises a roof and wall construction, that is built up of a support construction 1 and an insulating layer 2. The insulating layer 2 exists of a double-walled flexible insulation cover, which is filled with an insulating material 3 and which can be attached to the support construction 1.

[0014] The support construction 1 comprises a dismountable steel construction, that is composed of trusses 4. The insulation cover 2 is positioned at the outer side of the trusses 4, thereby advantageously adapting the shape of the freezing house defined by the trusses.

[0015] The insulation cover 2 comprises a number of adjacently positioned, internaly communicating tronk-like segments, of which the longitudinal axis extends from the floor towards the roof and which are provided at their uppermost ends 5 with a closeable filling opening (not shown) for said insulating material 3. For simplying the provision of the insulating material 3 in these tronk-like segments and for obtaining a good flexibility of the insulation cover, thereby extremely enhancing its applicability, the insulating material 3 preferably comprises granular polystyrene.

[0016] Preferably the walls of the insulation cover 2 comprise a light transmitting polyester fabric, that is coated at both sides with polyvinylchloride, and that can stand the storage of the insulation material 3.

[0017] The floor surface of the freezing house consists of an insulating and sealing layer. The insulating and sealing layer, as can be seen clearly in fig. 1, is positioned in a hole 6 that extends substantially along the entire floor surface of the freezing house. On the bottom and against the walls of this hole 6 a plastic film 7 is provided, of which the edges are sealingly attached to the lowermost edge portions of the insulation cover 2. The formation of this sealing connection can take place by means of heat welding or adhesion or any other proper method. Because the plastic film 7 is sealingly connected to the insulation cover 2 a substantially air tight room is formed within the freezing house, thereby substantially improving the freezing characteristics of this freezing house.

[0018] However, it is otherwise possible to provide the insulating and sealing layer on the ground level.

[0019] The hole 6 is filled with an insulating layer, that is positioned on top of the plastic film 7, said layer comprising a sand layer 8, insulating sheets 9, such as polystyrene sheets or the like, positioned against the side walls of said hole 6 and preferably joining the insulation cover 2 and wherein the hole 6 is further filled up with an insulating material, for example also polystyrene sheets 10. The combination of the plastic film 7, the thin layer of sand 8 on top thereof, the insulation sheets 9 and the polystyrene sheets 10 offers an extremely well insulating and sealing layer.

[0020] On the insulating layer formed like this ground sheets 11, known per se, are positioned, resulting in a floor having a large bearing capacity.

[0021] Fig. 2 shows an alternative embodiment of a freezing house according to the invention. In this alternative embodiment the insulation cover 2 is provided at the inner side of the support construction 1, so that also the positioning of the plastic film 7 slightly differs from the positioning of the plastic film 7 according to fig. 1. At the outer side of the support construction 1 a covering fabric 12 is provided, the provision of which is mainly aesthetical and therefore not necessary.

[0022] Finally the freezing house according to the invention can be provided with a displaceably auxiliary freezing units, instead of the common permanent machine rooms. As a result the displaceability of the freezing housing, that is already obtained through the application of a dismountable steel construction as a support construction, is further improved.

[0023] The invention is not restricted to the embodiments illustrated before, but can be varied widely within the scope of the invention.
