| (57) The present application relates to a cone-shaped container comprising a body (1)
and a lid (2) devised so as to ensure the airtight sealing and inviolability of the
container until it is first used. In order to ensure the sealing, the body (1) and
the lid (2) are provided with rims (3 and 4) of a particular shape enabling them to
fit closely under a slight pressure. The rim (4) of the lid or the rim of the body
also comprise a detachable strip (14) which is provided with at least one handle (6).
Until it is completely removed this strip ensures the inviolability of the container.
The body (1) may also be provided with several reinforcements located diametrically
opposite to one another which are meant for fixing the handle. |
[0001] The present invention relates to a generally cone-shaped container the features of which ensure the airtight sealing and inviolability of the containers until it is used for the first time.
[0002] This new container has been devised so as to be preferably manufactured in plastic material, thereby benefiting from the qualities of this material, namely that of being easily manufactured, with perfect finishing, at low manufacturing costs, etc.
[0003] The container comprises a body and a lid designed so as to ensure the airtight sealing and inviolability thereof until it is first used.
[0004] According to the invention there is provided a frusto-conical or conical container comprising a body and a lid, the body and the lid having rims which interengage to seal the container, and wherein either the lid or the body comprises a detachable peripheral strip which prevents the lid from being inadvertently disengaged from the body.
[0005] For a better understanding of the invention, the drawings of some preferred embodiments are annexed hereto, which are in no way limiting and in which:
Figure 1 is an elevation of the body and the lid of the container;
Figure 2 is a detailed sectional view of the fitting between the rim of the lid and the rim of the body;
Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view of the container shown in the previous drawings; and
Figure 4 is a detailed view of a further embodiment of the fitting between the rim of the lid and the rim of the body.
[0006] As may be seen from the drawings the container comprises a cone-shaped body (1) and a lid (2). Both body (1) and lid (2) have rims identified by, respectively, numerals (3) and (4), the particular shape of which ensures an air- tight sealing as well as the inviolability of the container before it is first used.
[0007] As may be seen on Fig. 2 the upper part of the body (1) is curved and has a rim which is generally designated by (3). It extends downwards forming a vertical skirt. This vertical skirt (10) is provided with a ledge (15) which ensures an effective fitting, as well as with two ribs (16). The lid has a rim which is generally designated by (4) as well as a curved area in generally semi-circular shape (8) which covers part (5) of the rim (3) of the body (1). This curved area (8) extends downwards by means of a skirt (11) forming a step (12) which fits on the ledge (15) of the body (1), and is continued by a detachable strip (14) ensuring the inviolability of the container until used for the first time. The strip (14) is separated from the downward skirt (11) by means of a weakened area (13).
[0008] The detachable strip (14) remains attached to the body (1) by fitting on the two ribs (16). The two ribs (16) keep the detachable strip (14) stretched and correctly fixed.
[0009] In Fig. 1 a ring (6) may also be seen acting as a handle for helping the tearing off of the detachable strip (14) around the periphery of the containers.
[0010] In this particular embodiment, only after removing the detachable strip (14) may one exert the necessary force on the skirt (11), which serves as a means for releasing the step (12), in order to loosen the fitting. Any effort exerted on the strip (14) tears it off from the body, the inviolability of the container being thereby ensured until it is first used.
[0011] Fig. 4 shows another preferred embodiment of the present container. As may be seen, a detachable strip (14) of the body (1), extending upwards, covers the skirt (11) of the rim (4) of the lid (2).
[0012] The body (1) has an upper rim (3) with a curved shape (5) corresponding approximately to a semi-circle. Starting from the wall of the body (1), an outer rim (17) is formed which curves so as to run vertically, extending upwards by means of a detachable strip (14). This outer rim covers the skirt (11) of the lid's rim. The detachable strip (14) is attached to the outer rim (17) by means of a weakened area (13). The strip (14) may also be provided with a handle to help it be torn off (not shown).
[0013] The lid (2) which has a rim generally designated by (4) has a curved area (8) the shape of which corresponds to a semi-circle and which covers the rim (3) of the body (1). This area (8) extends downwards on the inner side of the container by means of a vertical section (9) following the wall of the body (1) and on the outer side by means of a skirt (11). This skirt (11) forms on the inner side, in the place where it joins the curved area (8), a step (12) which is adequate for ensuring the fitting of both parts under a certain pressure. The shape of the downward skirt (11) is such that it enables it to be inserted between the wall of the body (1) and the upward detachable strip (14) the inviolability of the container until used for the first time being thereby ensured.
1. A frusto-conical or conical container comprising a body and a lid, the body and
the lid having rims which interengage to seal the container, and wherein either the
lid or the body comprises a detachable peripheral strip which prevents the lid from
being inadvertently disengaged from the body.
2. Container according to claim 1, characterised in that the rims of both body and
lid fit under a certain pressure, having therefor a curved shape and ribs which ensure
a close-fitting.
3. Container according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that either the rim of the
lid running downwards in an approximately parallel direction to the body partially
or completely covers the upper rim of the body, or a second lower rim of the body
beginning at the wall of the latter and running upwards in an approximately parallel
direction to it completely or partially covers the rim of the lid.
4. Container according to claim 3, characterised in that the rim of the lid is provided
with a detachable strip separated from said rim by a weakened area, which strip prevents
any effort for opening the container being exerted on the rim of the lid without it
being torn off.
5. Container according to claim 3, characterised in that the second lower rim of the
body begins at the wall of the latter and curves so as to run in a generally vertical
direction, and then continues forming a detachable strip conveniently separated from
the rim by a weakened zone, which strip covers the rim of the lid and, before being
torn off, prevents any effort being exerted on the rim in order to open the container.
6. Container according to claim 4, characterised in that the body is provided with
two reinforcements located diametrically opposite to one another for fixing a handle
and for the eventual location and fixing of the detachable strip.
7. Container according to any of the previous claims, characterised in that the detachable
strip is provided with at least a part, preferably in the shape of a ring,which acts
as a handle and helps the tearing off of said strip.
8. Container according to any of the previous claims, characterised in that it is
stackable with other similar containers.
