[0001] This invention refers to a case, particularly for cigars.
[0002] The cigar cases suitable for holding cigars have been known for a long time. They
are essentially made up of that parallelepiped cases, in whose inside the cigars are
put in line in a parallel arrangement.
[0003] However, it is well-known that the cigars undergo rapid alterations in their quality
in accordance with the humidity of the environment which surrounds them, with high
humidity generally being needed to keep the tobacco leaf at its optimum damp point.
This is achieved in the large cases or boxes fitted with dampening devices, which
are not transportable and serve for holding several boxes of cigars inside.
[0004] Therefore the lack of a portable cigar case, capable of housing around five cigars,
which can also be fitted with a dampening device, on the market is felt.
[0005] This void is filled by the cigar case which is the object of the present invention,
which is essentially characterized by the fact that, being flat and parallelepipedic
and fitted with a mouth on one of its smaller sides, it is fitted, at the mentioned
mouth, with a longitudinal cavity whose section is similar to an oblong, hollow body-cover
capable of being put laterally into the mentioned cavity with the aim of tightly sealing
the mouth of the cigar case, with the width of the mouth being less than the maximum
lateral width of the cavity, and the mentioned body-cover being made up of two halves
which telescope into each other and adapted to the mentioned hollow body-cover so
as to house in removable manner some moistening means on the inside, whose moistening
action is exercised inside the cigar case thanks to at least one opening made in the
body-cover.
[0006] In accordance with other charactiristics of the present invention, the mentioned
moistening means are made up of an oblong body of an absorbent material, capable of
being moistened by the user and returned to the body-cover and preferibly housed in
a rigid, perforated wrapping.
[0007] In the enclosed designs, a form of realization of the cigar case which is the object
of the invention is illustrated as a non-limiting example.
Figure 1 shown a perspective view of the parts making up the cigar case, some of which
are sectioned, separated and in the correlative position for mutual fitting together;
and
figure 2 illustrates a longitudinal section view of the cigar case in question.
[0008] In the mentioned diagrams, it can be seen that the cigar case which is the object
of the invention has an essentially flat, parallelepipedic body fitted with a mouth
1, with the mentioned mouth being fitted with a longitudinal cavity 2 whose section
is similar to that of a body-cover 3, which in this case is cylindrical.
[0009] The mentioned body-cover 3 is capable of being put laterally into the mentioned cavity
2, with the aim fo tightly sealing the mouth 1.
[0010] The width of the mouth 1 is less than the maximum lateral width oif the cavity 2.
[0011] The mentioned body-cover 3 is made up of two halves 4 and 5 which telescope together
and is adapted so as to house in a removable manner some moistening means 6.
[0012] The mentioned moistening means 6 are made up of an oblong body 8, of an absorbent
material, capable of being moistened by the user and returned to the body-cover 3,
preferibly housed inside a rigid, perforated wrapping 9.
[0013] Once the body-cover 3 is placed in the corresponding cavity 2 (Fig. 2), the moistening
action of the moistening means 6 is exercised inside the cigar case thanks to many
openings 7 made in the body-cover 3 and connects the inside of the latter to the inside
of the cigar case.
[0014] It is stated that all that does not alter, change or modify the essential nature
of the cigar case described may be submitted to variations of detall.
1ª.- Cigar case, particularly for cigars, characterized by the fact that, being esentially
flat and parallelpipedic, and fitted with a mouth on one of its smaller sides, it is
fitted at the mentioned mouth with a longitudinal cavity whose section is similar
to that on an oblong, hollow bodycover and capable of being put laterally into the
mentioned cavity with the aim of sealing tightly the mouth of the cigar case, with
the width of the mouth less than the maximum lateral width of the cavity, with the
mentioned body-cover being made up of two halves which telescope together and the
mentioned hollow body-cover being adapted to a house in a removable manner some moistening
means, whose moistening action is exercised inside the cigar case thanks to at least
one opening made in the body-cover.
2ª.- Cigar case in accordance with claim 1, claracterized by the fact that the mentioned
moistening means are made up of an oblong body of an absorbent material, capable of
being moistened by the user and returned to the body-cover, preferibly housed in a
rigid, perforated wrapping.
