    (54) Golf ball with variable density center


    (57) A golf ball includes a spherical center having a plurality of grooves in its outer surface. The grooves extend along great circles of the center which lie in planes which extend through an axis of the center. An intermediate layer of elastomeric material or rubber windings covers the center, and a molded cover forms the outside of the ball.
