Carton panel folding mechanism and method |
(57) A panel folding mechanism for folding reinforced panels of a wraparound carton (10)
comprises a leading pair of panel folder elements (E¹, E²) which are pivoted by common
cam means (106) predominantly in opposition to the direction of feed (F) of the carton
blank and a trailing pair of folder elements (E³, E4) which are pivoted by further
common cam means (108) predominantly in the feed direction of the carton blank in
order to bring the reinforcing panels into superposed relationship with other parts
of the blank to be strengthened thereby.
