    (54) Handle for household gear

    (57) Handle for household gear, essentially characterized in that it is constituted by a plurality of tube sections (1) assembled in a telescopic arrangement, said handle comprising conventional devices (2) for locking said tube sections (1), said devices (2) being operative both in the retracted configuration of the handle and in its stretched configuration for using the handle, the end sections of the handle respectively incorporating an anatomic handgrip (3) and a traditional arrangement (5) to quickly associate the handle to a utensil (6) with which it is to be used.

    Description

[0001] This invention refers to an improved handle for household gear.

[0002] More concretely according to the invention a handle has been devised for household gear such as brooms, mops, dustpans, window cleaners, feather dusters, paint rollers and the like.

[0003] It is a known fact that the handles at present existing in the market and intended for use with gear of the above-mentioned type consist in a single part of considerable length, by way of a "stick" made out of wood or any other material. Because of its length, this handle or "stick" is practical for handling the utensil but becomes a considerable inconvenient when it comes to storing it, especially in modern houses, apartments, etc.

[0004] In order to avoid these inconvenients the handle being the object of this invention has been constituted by a plurality of tube sections assembled in a telescopic arrangement, which allows to stretch it in order to obtain an operative configuration of the handle, and to retract it in order to obtain a retracted configuration so that it occupies a minimum of space when not using the utensil, thus facilitating its storage in any place.

[0005] The described handle incoporates means for locking the several sections forming it both in their stretched and retracted configurations. At one of its ends the handle incorporates as well an anatomic handgrip with eyelet for hanging it, while at the opposite end incorporating means for quickly fastening it to the head of the utensil such as a brush, a mop, a paint roller, etc.

[0006] In order to facilitate the explanation a drawing sheet has been enclosed with this patent specification which illustrates an execution given by way of example.

    [0007] In the drawings:

Fig. 1 shows the handle in its operative configuration.

Fig. 2 shows the handgrip of the handle.

Fig. 3 is a detail view showing the telescopic arrangement of the tube sections integrating the handle.

Fig. 4 is a detail view showing the coupling of the handle to the head of the utensil with which it is to be used.

[0008] Referring to the figures a handle can be seen in this execution intended to be associated to several household utensils, said handle consisting of several tube sections 1 assembled in a telescopic arrangement, which allows to stretch the handle as shown in fig. 1, or to retract it so that it occupies a minimum of space.

[0009] The handle has conventional means 2 for locking the several sections 1 in order to allow to handle it as if it was a one-piece handle.

[0010] At one end of the handle there is an anatomic handgrip 3 and an eyelet 4 to hang the whole set. At the opposite end a conventional arrangement 5 is provided to quickly associate the handle to the head 6 of the utensil with which it is to be used.
