(54) Improved molding apparatus and method for producing centrally-apertured discs


(57) The present invention relates to an injection molding apparatus and method for producing video discs, compact disc, etc. Most particularly, the present invention provides an injection molding apparatus and method for producing the discs mentioned above in which when a punch severs an aperture in the disc while in the mold halves and not solidified, a sprue bushing is arranged to retreat while applying resisting force against the direction of the urging force of the punch, to the sprue bushing.
