(54)	A neck frame for a container

(57) The invention provides a neck frame (12) for an opening (14) to a container (1) constructed to ISO specifications. The neck frame (12) comprises a tubular member (17), a compensating flange (18) and a second flange (20) extending around the tubular member (17), all cast integrally of stainless steel. A lid (29) is pivotal on mounting brackets (34) cast integrally on the second flange (20) and is secured to the tubular member (17) by eye bolts (28) pivotal in brackets (27) also cast integrally with the second flange (20). The neck frame (12) is secured to a cylindrical portion (2) of the container (1) by welding around the outer peripheral edge (47) of the compensating flange (18) and the inner peripheral edge (48) between the compensating flange (18) and the opening (14).
