(57) A double-faced knitted structure having on one or both faces a plurality of irregular
puckers is produced by knitting on a knitting machine having a pair of opposed needle
beds. At least two ends of non-contractible yarns are knitted on said needle beds
to produce at least two knitted courses and at least one end of a contractible yarn
is laid-in between the faces of said double-faced knitted structure and is intermittently
attached to the knitted structure along the length of said two courses.
