Heat-sensitive recording material |
(57) A transparent support (e.g. of a polyester film) of thickness 20-200 µm, is coated
on one side in amount of 0.01-5 g/m² with a matting layer containing an ester resin
which is solubilized in an organic solvent (e.g. a polyester resin), and particles
of size 0.01-5 µm of organic and/or organic particles (e.g. silica or polyacrylonitrile).
The other side can be activated and is coated in order with (a) an underlayer (e.g.
gelatin), (b) a heat-sensitive recording layer containing a diazo compound and a coupling
component, preferably one of these being microencapsulated, and optionally additives
to improve color formation, and/or a heat-fusible substance, and (c) an overcoating
layer which is preferably hardened and may contain white pigment or a dye.
The resultant heat-sensitive material is subjected to recording through layer (c)
from a thermal head and the image is viewed in reverse through the support. With a
pencil writing can be performed on the matt surface.
