    (54) Direct positive color photosensitive material

    (57) A direct positive color photosensitive material comprised of a support having thereon at least one photographic emulsion layer containing nonprefogged internal latent image silver halide grains and at least one nondiffusible cyan coupler represented by formula (C-I):

in which R1 represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, an aromatic amino group or a heterocyclic amino group; R2 represents an aliphatic group containing 2 to 20 carbon atoms; R3 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aliphatic oxy group or an acylamino group; and Y1 represents a hydrogen atom or a coupling-off group. The material provides images having high maximum cyan image density and low minimum cyan density, despite fluctuations in processing conditions.
