Process for refining fat |
(57) The process for refining a fat of the present invention comprises removing partial
glyceride(s) and/or free fatty acid(s) from an oleaginous mixture comprising said
glyceride(s) and/or said acid(s) at high concentrations through solvent-fractionation
with the use of acetone. Another process for refining a fat of the present invention
comprises preliminarily removing most of free fatty acid(s) from an oleaginous mixture
comprising partial glyceride(s) and/or free fatty acid(s) at high concentrations through
liquid/liquid extraction prior to solvent-fractionation; and then removing the partial
glyceride(s) and/or the residual free fatty acid(s) from said mixture through solvent-fractionation
with the use of acetone, the latter process is particularly effective in a case where
said oleaginous mixture has a high acid value.
