Improvement in the vice (6) |
(57) The further end of the body (2) of a vice is provided with toothed concave surfaces
(16,18), and the slide (6) has an aperture (26) with a toothed concave edge (28) by
means of which a pipe or rod may be gripped vertically. The vice may be rotatable
so as to project over the edge of a work bench to allow long objects to be gripped.
The guide screw (10) preferably has a substantial collar or nut (46) retaining it
within the slide and secured to the guide screw by means of a cotterpin or set screw
(48), and the jaws may be made reversible and may be designed to grip objects internally.
