    (57) An electrophotographic toner containing a quaternary ammonium salt having the formula:

    wherein each of R₁ and R₂ is a long chain alkyl group having from 8 to 22 carbon atoms or a long chain alkenyl group having from 8 to 22 carbon atoms, R₃ is an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R₄ is an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a benzyl group and A⊖ is an anion.
