(57) An earth connector in a ferrule electrical connector having either pin or socket
contacts. The earth connector comprises a spring contact clip integral with a tab
extending one end therefrom and a spring ring. The spring contact clip fits over the
pin or socket contact and the tab extends though an insulating body of the connector.
The spring ring fits over the insulating body forming a firm electrical connection
with the tab of the spring contact clip. There is thus an earth connection from the
pin or socket contact to the outer shell of the connector.
