    (54) Fitting for skiers, mountain climbers and sports uses in general

    (57) The present invention relates to a fitting for skiers, mountain climbers and sports uses in general, comprising a strong sheet or cloth (2), provided with two top lugs (3) each of which comprises a pocket (4) for housing the point of a ski (5).
This sheet (2) is moreover provided with a bottom portion (6) which can be bent onto the body of the sheet and can be coupled thereto, at the top, through snap coupling means (7) and, along the side edges, by means of zip-fastners (8).
The sheet is adapted to be completely folded on itself and to be housed in one of the pockets formed at its top end.

    Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a fitting for skiers, mountain climbers and sports uses in general.

[0002] As is known, skiers and mountain climbers, mainly as they practise off-track sports in zones devoid of shelters, must frequently stop to take a rest to refresh.

[0003] However, in harsh weather conditions, it is very unconfortable to rest directly on the snow, mainly because of moisture which is susceptible to deleteriously affect the legs of the skiers.

[0004] Even if the skier uses his-her skies as a backrest, he can not obtain a suitable comfort.

    SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] Accordingly, the task of the present invention is to overcome the above mentioned drawbacks, by providing a fitting for skiers, mountain climbers and the like, which can be easily carried and quickly extended so as to operate as a makeshift support and seat member.

[0006] Within the scope of the above mentioned task, a main object of the present invention is to provide such a fitting which has very reduced weight and size and which, in the folded condition thereof, can also be used as a makeshift cloth item.

[0007] According to the present invention, the above mentioned task and objects, as well as yet other objects, which will become more apparent thereinafter, are achieved by a fitting for skiers, mountain climbers and for sports users in general, characterized in that it comprises a strong sheet, having two top lugs each comprising a pocket adapted to house the point portion of a ski.

[0008] The sheet is moreover provided with a bottom portion which can be bent or folded on the body of the sheet and can be coupled thereto, at the top, by means of snap coupling elements and, along its side edges, by means of zip-fastners.

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0009] Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description of a preferred, though not exclusive, embodiment of a fitting for skiers, mountain climbers and for sports in general, which is illustrated, by way of an indicative but not limitative example, in the accompanying drawings, where:

    Figure 1 is a perspective view of the fitting according to the invention applied to a ski pair;

Figure 2 is a top view of the subject fitting having its bottom portion in a folded condition; and

Figure 3 shows the subject fitting in a completely folded condition.

    DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0010] With reference to the drawing figures, the fitting according to the invention, indicated overally at the reference number 1, consists of a sheet or cloth 2, having two top lugs 3 each of which comprises a pocket 4 for housing the point of a ski 5.

[0011] The sheet 2 is provided, at the bottom thereof, with a portion 6 which can be folded or bent onto the body of said sheet and can be coupled thereto, at the top by snap coupling means consisting, according to a preferred embodiment, of two buttons 7 and, along the side edges, by zip-fastners 8.

[0012] The bottom portion 6, in its folded and coupled condition, will define, with the sheet 2, a tubular cross-region 9 delimited by the end portions of the zip-fastners 8, conventionally reclosed, therewithin can be housed the ski sticks 10 which, in this way, will be arranged on the top of the fixtures 11 of the skies 5.

[0013] The sheet 2 is preferably made of an impermeable cloth strong material, of substantially elongated rectangular shape, adapted to provide resistance for supporting the skier.

[0014] The sheet 2, moreover, can be completely folded on itself, to be stored in one of the pockets 4 and, accordingly, can be carried by a cord 12 to be engaged within the eyelets 13 applied at the top of the lugs 3 to be engaged with the user belt or tied about his/her waist.

[0015] The subject fitting can be used in a very simple way: in fact, the skier, after having removed his/her skies 10, drives them for a portion into the snow 14 so as to arrange the skies with a parallel complanar relationship.

[0016] Then, the skier will take the cloth or sheet 2 and will arrange the pocket 4 on the point portions of the skies 5; then he will arrange the sticks 10 in the seat 9 by causing it to rest on the fixtures 1 of the skies 5.

[0017] In this connection it should be pointed out that the sheet 2 is moreover provided, at the end portions of the bottom portion 6, with two further eyelets 15 for receiving a cord 16 which can be tied about the skies 5 and/or the user body in order to further reinforce the thus formed seat.

[0018] From the above disclosure it should be apparent that the invention fully achieves the intended task and objects.

[0019] In particular, the subject fitting 1 can also be used as a makeshift cloth item, in order to protect the user body from an excessively cold weather.

[0020] Another important aspect of the invention is that the sheet 2 can also be coated by a reflecting material in order to afford the possibility of obtaining a perfect bronzing on the ski field.

[0021] Finally, the fact is to be pointed out that the recess 17 defined between the body of the sheet 2 and its folded bottom portion 6 will be adapted to house a scarf or a cover, or the like, to be introduced by opening at least one of the side zip-fastners.

[0022] The invention as disclosed is susceptible to several modifications and variations all of which will come within the scope of the invention.

[0023] Moreover, all of the details can be replaced by other tecnically equivalent elements.

[0024] In practicing the invention, the used materials, provided that they are compatible to the intended use, as well as the contingent size and shapes, can be any according to requirements.
