Method for curing an organic coating using condensation heating and radiant energy |
(57) Coatings are cured by simultaneous exposure to radiant energy and condensing inert
perfluorochemical vapors. The invention also includes an apparatus for use in curing
coatings having a vessel (10) with reservoir (5) filled with inert perfluorochemical
liquid (4), heated by heater (2). Cooling coils (13) and (14), for condensing perfluorochemical
vapors (6), are located in the inlet (11) and outlet (12) of the vessel (10). A coating
(8) on a substrate (7) is carried through the vessel (10) on a continuously moving
belt (15). The coating (8) is cured by vapors (6) and radiant energy from energy source
(9) passing through windows (16).
