    (57) A section member structure, comprising fixed frame section members (3), consisting of a box-like body, therefrom at least an abutment leg extends, as well as movable frame section members (21, 26), consisting of a box-like body which is provided, on a side, with a seat for housing a plate-like element and at least a seat for coupling a further section member adapted to restrain the plate-like element and, on the other side, with an abutment leg.

    Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a section member structure of assembly for making window and door frames in general.

[0002] As is known, there are commercially available several types of aluminium section members which are used for making window and door frames: more specifically, in order to make these frames, several types of different section members must be used with consequent great problems during the assembling operations.

[0003] Moreover, known section members for the intended uses have a rather poor assembling flexibility, mainly as it is necessary to replace existing window and door frames, which require to carry out complex fitting operations susceptible to greatly increase the installation costs.

[0004] Another drawback of known section members is that the assembling of several componente elements as well as fittings and the line, such as gaskets, handles, hinges and so on is rather complex and of poor reliability.

    SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] Accordingly, the task of the present invention is to overcome the drawbacks thereinabove mentioned, by providing a section member structure or assembly, for making window and door frames, which affords the possibility of easily and quickly making all of the types of required window and door frames, by using a very reduced number of component elements, susceptible to be quickly assembled.

[0006] Within the scope of the mentioned task, a main object of the present invention is to provide a section member assembly affording the possibility of easily and quickly replacing an existing window or door frame.

[0007] Another object of the present invention is to provide such a section member assembly which is very reliable and safe in operation and which, moreover, can be quickly and easily made starting from easily available materials and elements and which has a competitive making cost.

[0008] According to one aspect of the present invention, the above task and objects, as well as yet other objects, which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved by a section member structure or assembly, for making window and door frames in general, characterized in that it comprises fixed frame section members, consisting of a box-like body, therefrom at least an abutment leg extends, as well as movable frame section members, consisting of a box-like body provided, on a side, with a seat for housing a plate-like element, and at least a seat for coupling a section member adapted to restrain said plate like element and, on the other side, with an abutment leg.

    DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0010] With reference to the Figures of the accompanying drawings, the section member assembly for making window and door frames in general according to the invention comprises fixed frame section members which, substantially, include a box-like body 1 therefrom at least an abutment leg 2 extends.

[0011] More specifically, with reference to Figure 1, a fixed frame section member is herein illustrated, indicated overally at the reference number 3, which may be used for making both uprights and cross-members this section member 3 is provided, in addition to the mentioned abutment leg 2, with a coupling leg 4, facing to the opposite side of the abutment leg 2.

[0012] Moreover, on the box-like body 1, there are provided seats 5 for coupling further section members and gaskets.

[0013] Figure 2 shows a section member 6, preferably used as a upright section member, which does not include any coupling legs, whereas Figure 3 shows a further section member 7 having a box-like body 1 of greater size than the size of the section member shown in Figure 2.

[0014] Figure 4 shows a further section member 8 provided, on the opposite side of the abutment leg 2, with a recessed seat 10 made on the box-like body 1.

[0015] Figure 5 shows a further section member 11 for making a bottom cross member and is provided with a bottom leg 12, arranged oppositedly from the abutment leg 2, as well as, on the opposite side from the bottom leg 12, with a bottom edge 13 ending with a up-turned edge 14, inwardly directed.

[0016] Figure 6 shows a fixed frame upright section member, indicated overally at the reference number 15, having a leg 16 for coupling to a fixed structure, arranged on the opposite side of the abutment leg 2; moreover, at the mentioned box-like body, there are provided a top seat 17 and a bottom seat 18.

[0017] Figures 7 to 12 show movable frame section members, including a central box-like body 20 which, on a side, is provided with a seat 21 for receiving a plate-like element such as a panel or a glass plate, and, near said seat 21, there is formed a further seat 22 for coupling with a restraining section member which will be disclosed in a more detailed way here inafter.

[0018] In this connection, it should be pointed out that Figures 7 and 8 show movable frame section members for making the so-called vasistas window frames, which section members are provided with an abutment leg 24, arranged on the same side as the leg 25 for coupling the plate-like element; the section member 26 shown in Figure 8, in particular, has its abutment leg 24 arranged on the opposite side of the plate-like restraining leg 25.

[0019] Figures 9 and 10 respectively show a upright 30 and a cross-member 31 which can be advantageously used for making door movable frames; these section members are substantially analogous to one another, with the difference that they are provided with an abutment leg, indicated at 32, which is simmetrically mutually opposite to the respective abutment leg.

[0020] Figures 11 and 12 show further section members for making bascule type movable frames, which section members can be mutually coupled to one another.

[0021] More specifically, Figure 11 show a movable frame section member 35, which is provided with a bottom leg and a top leg, indicated at 36 and 37 respectively, and arranged on the same face of the box- like body, said legs being aligned with respect to one another.

[0022] The section member 38 shown in Figure 12 is provided, on the opposite side to a coupling leg 39, with an abutment lug 40, extending from the box-like body.

[0023] Figures 13 to 17 show uprights, cross-members, band and base members which can be used both on movable frames and on fixed frames.

[0024] More specifically, Figure 13 shows a section member 45, having a box-like central body 46 provided with opposite seats, overally indicated at 47, on its both outer faces and which is coupled to restraining legs 48, aligned with respect to one another and arranged on the same face.

[0025] The section member 45 can be advantageously used as a cross-member intermediate element.

[0026] Figure 15 shows a section member 55 which, on the opposite side with respect to the region 25 thereat there is housed a plate-like element, is provided with a bottom lug 57.

[0027] Figures 16 and 17 show band, or base section members, indicated respectively at 58 and 58, which are provided with a central box-like body 60, of great size and are further provided, on the oppo site side of the coupling region of the plate-like element, with opposite lugs 61.

[0028] Figures 18 and 19 show upright section members, indicated respectively at 65 and 66, which can be used for making the so-called single blocks, and which are provided with a respective seat, indicated at 67, in which can be slidingly housed a roll blind; the mentioned upright section members are further provided with coupling elements for coupling them to a fixed structure and have an opened shape, that is they do not comprise any central box-like body.

[0029] Figure 20 shows a coupling section member 70, for coupling the above disclosed section members with other types of section members, having different ridges or size; this section member 70 consists of two adjoining box-like bodies 71 and 72, therefrom lugs 73 extend for providing the several coupling seats.

[0030] Figure 21 shows an auxiliary section member 75, having a substantially H-shape, the respective legs 76 of this section member being outwardly and inwardly directed.

[0031] Figures 22 and 23 show two further section members for restraining the mentioned plate-like element, said section members being indicated at 80 and 81 respectively and the section member 80 being specifically designed for use with a great thickness plate-like element, whereas the section member 81 can be used with small thickness plate-like elements.

[0032] Figure 24 shows a section member 85 which is particularly adapted to restrain panel members.

[0033] Figure 25 shows a section member for thread coupling with a plate-like element such as a glass plate, said section member being indicated at 87 and having a pair of C-shape seats 88, oppositedly arranged with respect to a central body 89.

[0034] Figure 26 shows a brush type of gasket 90 which can be engaged in seats usually formed on the abutment legs and which can be easily engaged in the longitudinal direction.

[0035] Figure 27 shows a gasket 91 adapted to be applied on the outside of the glass plate and to be engaged on the seat of the abutment leg, so as to firmly restrain the glass plate, on the inner surface of said glass plate there being moreover provided a gasket 92 of the type shows in Figure 28.

[0036] As shown in Figures 29 to 31, by the above disclosed section members, it is possible to make a window frame, comprising two wing elements, the several component elements of which can be assem bled in a very quick and simple way, even in the case of replacement of existing window frames.

[0037] In this connection it should be apparent that the above disclosed section members according to the invention afford the possibility of easily and quickly making a lot of different window and door frames.

[0038] From the above disclosure it should be apparent that the invention fully achieves the intended task and objects.

[0039] While the invention has been disclosed with reference to particular embodiments thereof, it should be apparent that the disclosed embodiments are susceptible to several modifications and variations all of which will come within the scope of the appended Claims.
