    (57) In a video cassette selling/lending apparatus according to the invention, a sales price/rental fee of a video cassette can be changed in accordance with the number of use times of the apparatus by the same customer or the number of lending times of the video cassette, thereby contributing to the promotion of the selling/lending of the video cassettes. In an article selling/lending system according to the invention, when an article is sold or lent, the article is peferentially sold or lent for the customer who has previously reserved.
