    (54) A hand-held sales data processing device, and system therefor


    (57) A handy type sales data processing device (11) has a sales data memory for storing sales data relating to the name, the unit price, and so on, of a commodity, and also a total value memory for storng the total value of sales. The processing device (11) displays the sales data and updates the total value every time a bar code representing a commodity and held on a recording medium is read. The total value stored in the total value memory is transmitted to a sales data collecting device (13) for collecting the sales data.
