    (54) Envelope for table top printer

    (57) Method and apparatus are provided for forming an envelope wherein front (38) and rear panels (40) of an envelope are incorporated in continuous or discrete webs or sheets (10,20). Heat activatable adhesive (54,56,58) is applied to three peripheral edge portions (26,28,42) of one of the envelope panels (148) in facing engagement with the other of the panels (38). The webs or sheets (10,20) are fixed together and fed into a printing machine (72) such as a table or desk top laser printer (72) wherein the heat fusing rolls (76,78) of the printer (72) are utilized to activate the heat activatable adhesive (54,56,58) to thereby secure the envelope panels (38,48) together to form an envelope pocket. One of the envelope panels (38) incorporates a sealing flap portion (40) which may be provided with a rewettable adhesive pattern (50), while the facing portion of the opposed sheet (20) may be provided with an antistick composition (52) to prevent premature sticking between the sheets (10,20) in the area of the sealing flap (40).
