(57) The expanded sheet metal production machine comprises a toothed blade mobile in two mutually orthogonal directions and cooperating with a backing blade which can retract against the action of elastic means during the active movement of the toothed blade. The improvements consist in the provision of a device for feeding the sheet metal in such a manner as to obtain: a required distance between the holes in the sheet metal, stretching limited to intermediate zones of a metal sheet, which therefore has front and rear end portions free of stretch, and expanded metal sheets starting from strip.
