Abstract

 The device comprises a casing for housing a small size watch and fixing members for fixing the casing on a watch strap.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a device for applying in a quick,reliable and removable way,an additional watch on a watch strap,

[0002] As is known,work and tourism requirements, mainly as great distances are involved,as well as communications through very great distances and between very distant time zones,could be properly satisfied by an adjustable type of watch, that is a watch so designed and arranged as to indicate a desired time while storing another desired time to be displayed at will.

[0003] The aim of the present invention is that of solving the above problem,by proposing a device for applying an additional watch on a conventional watch strap,for providing the above mentioned adjusting featu­re and the possibility of displaying the time of at least two different time zones.

[0004] Within the scope of the above aim,a main object of the present invention is to provide such a device which has a very reduced size and weight and can be made,at a very small cost,starting from easily available materials and elements.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] According to one aspect of the present inven­tion,the above aim and object,as well as yet other objects,which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved by a device for applying an additional watch on a watch strap,characterized in that said device comprises a casing adapted to house a small additional watch and fixing members for removably coupling said additional watch on a watch strap associated with a main watch.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0007] With reference to the figures of the accompanying drawings,the device according to the present invention comprises a small watch 1,which can be housed in a supporting casing 2 which,by means of restraining elements which will be disclosed hereinafter, can be quichly and removably coupled to the strap 3 of a conventional watch 4.

[0008] More specifically, the small additional watch 1 must be introduced into the casing 2 through the open bottom of said casing to project from the top opening of the casing,which is so designed as to firmly restrain said additional watch in said casing,

[0009] Figures 4,5 and 6 show three possible embodi­ ments of the casing which,at the bottom,are provided with side portions 4 therewith there are associated restraining members for clamping the strap 3 against the casing 2 of the device.

[0010] More specifically, figure 4 shows two legs 5 pivoted on pivoting hinges 6,provided with a given resistance,so as to allow for the strap 3 to be engaged and locked therein.

[0011] Figure 5 shows a restraining element consisting of a resilient member 7 provided for clamping the strap 3 against the casing 2.

[0012] In figure 6,the element 8,provided with a given resiliency,is rigid,at one side,with the bottom portion of the casing, through the side portion 4,whereas,at the other end it is affixed to said casing by means of a detent member 9.

[0013] Figures 7 and 8 show a casing 2 provided with bottom restraining elements 10 comprising inward turned legs 11 provided for encompassing the strap and outer upward turned legs 12 provided for engaging a resilient flexible ring element 13,adapted to pass under the strap for clamping said strap against said casing(see also figures 11 and 12).

[0014] A further detent resilient restraining element 14 can be used,which is shown in figures 9 and 10, provided with arms 15 adapted to clamp on the casing 2, and a resilient large leg 16 for pressing said strap 3 against said casing.

[0015] From the above disclosure it should be apparent that the invention fully achieves the intended aim and objects.

[0016] While the invention has been disclosed and illustrated with reference to a preferred embodiment thereof,it should be apparent that the disclosed embo­diment is susceptible to several modifications and variations all of which will come within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.

Claims

1- A device for applying an additional watch on a watch strap,characterized in that said device comprises a casing adapted to house a small additional watch and fixing members for removably coupling said additional watch on a watch strap associated with a main watch.

2- A device according to claim 1,characterized in that said casing is provided with a bottom opening for receiving therethrough said additional watch and a top opening for displaying the dial of said additional watch.

3- A device according to claim 1,characterized in that said casing is provided,at the bottom thereof,with two opposite side portions thereon there are pivoted two legs for engaging said strap and clamping said strap against said casing.

4- A device according to claim 1,characterized in that said casing is provided,at the bottom thereof,with a resilient element for encompassing said strap and press­ing said strap against said casing.

5- A device according to claim 1,characterized in that said casing is provided,at the bottom,with a resilient element for engaging with said strap and provided with a detent member.

6- A device according to claim 1,characterized in that said casing is provided with two opposite bottom restraining elements each comprising an inward turn­ed leg for encompassing said strap and a upward turned leg for engaging with a flexible resilient ring member passing under said strap so as to press said strap against said casing.

7- A device according to claim 1,characterized in that said device further comprises a detent member having two arms for clamping on said casing,with said two arms there being rigid a large resilient leg for pressing said strap against said casing.
