    (54) Compressed air dispensing machine

    (57) A compressed air dispensing machine for supplying compressed air to diving cylinders comprises a housing (2) containing a compressor (6) for generating air under pressure, a storage chamber (10) to which the air under pressure is fed, a filtration unit (8) for purifying the air to breathing standards, an outlet line (14) from the storage chamber (10) and to which the diving cylinder can be attached, and a control unit (18) for controlling the dispensing of compressed air from the storage chamber (10). The machine further comprises a safety tank (26) to which the outlet line (14) feeds and into which the empty cylinder must be located prior to filling, the control unit (18) and the safety tank (26) being interconnected with the storage chamber (10) in such a manner that access to compressed air from the outlet line is provided only on closure of the safety tank (26) together with actuation of the control unit.
