(57) A moving staircase exerciser comprises an endless loop of steps each of which is
a rigid unit of riser (28) and tread (26), and each step is pivoted to the next. Each
pivot (30) is extended at each end, laterally of the step, to carry rollers (32) which
run in tracks (10, 12, 14) at each side. The tracks (10, 12, 14) are U-shaped so that
the rollers (32) are conveyed from one straight run (12) carrying the steps in the
position for use, to the other straight (10) run carrying the inverted steps on a
return movement, and the steps are conveyed between the guides at the other end via
a Geneva mechanism (18).
