[0001] This invention relates to a hermetically sealed envelope provided with an opening
device, suitable for use as a container for single sheets, folders or leaflets, to
be used for teaching, informational and promotional purposes applied manually or automatically
to all types of glass, plastic or paper commercial containers.
[0002] It is well-known that many commercial products packed in containers of various shapes
and types are used a vehicles for the mass distribution of various things and elements
for the purposes mentioned above.
[0003] The most popular use consists of paper envelopes containing collections of didactic
figures or information and promotional brochures.
[0004] However, these envelopes are almost always open on one or even two sides to allow
the contents to be easily removed and are mainly applied by gluing on manually.
[0005] The object of this invention is to create a hermetically sealed envelope, provided
with permanent or removable glue, which can be applied by automatic machines and provided
with a tear-off opening in the form of a perimetral thread embedded under the external
closing sheet.
[0006] This thread can be the same length as one side of the envelope or as long as 2 or
3 sides of the envelope and is provided with a small visible element acting as a tab
which can be pulled.
[0007] This envelope is provided with adhesive by being coupled to a tape-shaped adhesive
element which in turn also allows it to be coupled to the siliconised tape for transporting
on continuous automatic machines used for the application of envelopes to commercial
containers.
[0008] These and other special characteristics of this invention are more clearly demonstrated
in the following detailed description, provided purely as an example and without limitations
to the scope of the invention, and with the aid of the various figures in the attached
illustrative drawings, in which:
Figure 1 shows an exploded perspective view of an embodiment of this invention, showing
the adhesive element applied to the envelope and two examples of possible contents;
Figure 2 shows a perspective view of a series of envelopes applied to the continuous
siliconised tape which permits them to be transported and applied to various containers;
Figure 3 shows a perspective view of two different containers, purely as an example,
on which two envelopes produced according to this invention have been applied;
Figure 4 shows a front view of an envelope provided with a tear-open thread applied
on one of the sides, according to this invention; and
Figure 5 shows a front view of an envelope provided with a tear-open thread embedded
in two of the sides.
[0009] Referring to figures 1 and 2, this invention comprises in practice a hermetically
sealed paper envelope, the reverse side of the envelope 2 is covered with permanent
glue 3 so that it can be coupled to the adhesived plate-shaped element 4 which is
below it.
[0010] This element is then made to adhere to the continuous siliconised tape 5 so that
the said envelopes can be applied by automatic machines.
[0011] The envelopes 1 can be filled with illustrative elements 6 for didactic or informational
purposes or with promotional and advertising leaflets 7.
[0012] As shown in Figure 3, the envelopes in question can be applied to containers of various
shapes by means of the adhesive support 4, for example on bottles 8 or rectangular
boxes 9, made from different materials.
[0013] Referring to figures 4 and 5, the envelopes 1 in question can be provided with a
thread 10 embedded under the first frontal support, leaving visible a tab 11, which
can be grasped, thus permitting the envelope to be torn open without tearing it off
the container.
[0014] This thread 10 can be located on only one side of the envelope or on two or more
sides, according to need and as a function of the contents which have to be removed.
[0015] As can be seen from the drawings, the envelopes have a series of knurls 12 on the
two longer sides, like those already on the market, in order to permit them to engage
with the transportation and application rollers existing on automatic machines provided
with a continuous feed belt.
[0016] Finally, it must be emphasised that the present embodiment does not limit the scope
of this invention and it must be understood that numerous modifications, variations,
additions or replacements of elements can be made to the present invention without
altering either its spirit or object and still remaining within its scope of protection
as defined in the claims attached hereto.
1. Glued hermetically sealed envelope with opening device, characterised by the fact
that it basically consists of a real envelope closed on all sides to which is applied,
by permanent gluing, a support glued on with permanent or removable glue making possible
application to any commercial container as a distribution vehicle for informational,
didactic, promotional and advertising purposes.
2. Envelope according to claim 1, characterised by the fact that the said envelope
is also provided with a tear-open device consisting of a thread embedded under the
first closing sheet of the envelope itself.
3. Envelope according to claim 2, characterised by the fact that the said tear-open
thread can be located along one or more of the sides of the envelope, according to
the contents of the envelope.
4. Envelope according to claim 1, characterised by the fact that the glued support
permits these envelopes to be applied by automatic machines which require the prior
arrangement of the envelopes in series on a continuous support of siliconised paper.
5. Glued hermetically sealed envelope with opening device as described above and shown
in the various figures of the illustrative drawings attached hereto, for the purposes
specified above.
