(57) A method of improving the softness, or antistatic properties of a textile without
yellowing comprising treating said textile with a composition comprising a) about
0.05 to about 5 weight percent of a cationic silicone of the structure M D

y M where M is (CH₃)₃ SiO
1/2; D is OSi(CH₃)₂; D′ is CH₃SiO(CH₂)₃OCH₂CH(OH)CH₂N⁺(CH₃)₃Cl⁻; x=20-200; y=3-60; and
b) about 0 to 2 % of an electrolyte.
