    (57) The invention relates to a method and apparatus for forming mailers from continuous webs (2A, 3A) of materials, wherein knurls or impressions (26) are provided along the length of the widthwise glue lines (23) used to form the continuous webs (2A, 3A) into closed envelopes (9) defining the mailers so as to inhibit "tenting".
