(57) An improved wear assembly for a ground engaging tool, such as an excavator bucket, comprises a lit protector shroud (25) which is detachably mounted on the bucket lip (17) to cover the lip (17) and provide a wear bearing surface that covers the lower surface of the tooth adapter (29, 31) and which is detachably held in place by abutment against a tooth (33) detachably mounted on the adapter (29, 31) and a flexible pin (91) extending through registering apertures (79, 81) in the adapter (29, 31) and the shroud (25).
