Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to a postcard and a manufacturing method thereof, more
specifically, the present invention relates to a postcard for covering temporarily
a portion provided with a confidential matter formed on a surface of a postcard material
by adhereing it the portion, and a manufacturing method thereof.

is material including a postcard material formed a confidential matter on a surface
thereof, and a sticking material which a pressure sensitive adhesive layer is formed
on the reverse side of postcard material.
[0003] In this conventional postcard, a surface of a postcard material can be covered by
adhereing it on the surface of the postcard material, however, it is not preferably
used for covering temporarily the confidential matter, since the sticking material
is hardly peeled off from the surface of the postcard material.
[0004] In order to facilitate peeling the sticking material from the surface of the the
material, it is thinking that a peeling process such as silicon processing is applied
on the surface of the postcard material so as to be peeled off the sticking material.
However, an applying the peeling process on the postcard material complicates a machinery,
and the cost for manufacturing increases. Therefore, it is hardly to apply the peeing
process. And, further, if peeling process is applied on the surface of the postcard
material, the sticking material is separated from the postcard material inadvertently.

Best Mode for carrying out the Invention
[0031] Fig. 1A and Fig. 1B are perspective views showing one embodiment of the present invention.
[0032] Fig. 2A and Fig. 2B is a sectional views showing an aforementioned embodiment.
[0033] The postcard comprises a postcard stuff 10. The postcard stuff 10 comprises a postcard
material 12 of standard postcard size and a covering material 14 adhered on a part
of the postcard material 12. The covering material 14 is formed integral with the
postcard material 12 in a manner of extending from one end thereof and is stuck to
the postcard material 12 in a folded-back fashion.
[0034] Further, on the surface of the postcard material 12, a lottery part 16a such as a
letter "winning" or "lose" and a confidential matter 16b such as a information of
the finance or the insurance are formed. The lottery part 16a and the confidential
matter 16b are formed by printing on the surface of the postcard material 12. Meanwhile,
the lottery part 16a and the confidential matter 16b may be formed by writing with
a pen.
[0035] The covering material 14 compreses a base material 18 which is formed integral with
a postcard material 12 in a manner of extending from one end thereof.
[0036] The base material 18 is formed with a relatively soft material such as paper, synthetic
resin film and the like which can be cut by a scissors or the like.
[0037] A suppression layer 20 is formed on one main surface of the base material 18. The
suppression layer 20 is formed by printing a silver ink and the like or laminating
a film material such as an aluminum foil having a suppressiveness with adhesives.
[0038] On the surface of the suppression layer 20, a primer layer 22 for increasing an adhesion
of a heat adherent resin layer 24 discribed later is formed. The primer layer 22 is
formed by coating a resin such as vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer on the surface
of the suppression layer 20.
[0039] On the surface of the primer layer 22, the heat adherent resin layer 24 is formed
by coating a heat adherent resin as heating and extruding it, or by gravure or silk
screen printing as dissolving it in a solvent or despersing in water.
[0040] The heat adherent resin layer 24 is formed to melt at about 100°C to 200°C so as
to be adhered to the postcard material 12 made of paper or the like.
[0041] As an example of said heat adherent resin, adhesives of EVA group may be selected.
The composition of the adhesive comprises an EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymerized
resin), a tackifier, a wax and an anti-oxidant, to which sometimes a release agent
such as silicon for reducing the adhesion, a plasticizer and a filler are added as
an adjutant.
[0042] As the tackifier, there are glycerin of partially hydrogenated rosin, glycerin-ester
of rosin, pentaerythritol modified rosin, petroleum resin, α-methylstyrene/vinyl toluene
copolymer, terpene oil polymer and terpene-phenol polymer, etc.
[0043] As the wax, there are paraffin wax, microcrystalline wax, low molecular weight polyethylene
wax, Fischer-Tropsch wax, caster wax and chlorinated paraffin, etc.
[0044] As the anti-oxidant, there are hindered phenol group compound, salicylic acid group
compound, benzophenone group compound, benzotriazol group compound, phosphorus group
compound, sulfur group compound, organic metal group compound, etc.
[0045] As the heat adherent resins other than the aforesaid examples, there are stylene-butadiene-stylene
copolymer, stylene-isoprele-stylene copolymer, polyethylene, ethylene-ethylacrylate
copolymerized resin, ethylene-acrylic acid copolymerized resin, ethylene-methyl acrylate
copolymerized resin, ethylene-methyl methacrylate, ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymerized
resin, ionomer resin, polymethylpentene resin, ethylene-vinylalcohol copolymerized
resin, vinylidene chloride resin, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymerized resin,
polyamide resin, stylene-acrylic acid copolymerized resin, polystylene resin, polyacrylic
acid copolymerized resin, polyester resin, polyurethane resin, waxes, etc. When printing
and coating, these resins can be suitably used as heating or dissolving in a solvent
or dispersing in water.
[0046] Next, a method of manufacturing the postcard will be explained.
[0047] First, continuous paper for forming the postcard stuff 10 is prepared. The postcard
material 12 portion and the base material 18 portion are formed continuously in the
direction of width of this continuous paper. Accordingly, the length of the continuous
paper in the direction of width is a sum of the length of the postcard material 12
and the length of the base material 18. And the suppression layer 20 is formed on
one main surface of the base material 18 of the continuous paper by allover printing
with a silver ink, for example, by the known printing method as the offset printing
or coating.
[0048] As showing Fig. 3, a rolled laminate comprising the postcard stuff 10 formed with
the suppression layer 20 is mounted on a hold roller 32 of a manufacturing machine
30 for the covering material.
[0049] The postcard stuff 10 held by the hold roller 32 is loosen at one end and led to
a resin coater 34. The resin coater 34 is designed to print and coat the resin 22a
such as the aforesaid vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer on the suppression layer
20 of the base material 18.
[0050] The base material 18 onto which the resin 22a is printed and coated is then guided
to a dryer 36, whereby the resin 22a is dried and the primer layer 22 is formed.
[0051] Next, the base material 18 formed with the primer layer 22 is directed to a heat
adherent resin coater 40 for printing and coating the heat adherent resin 24a containing,
for example, the aforesaid ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymerized resin as a main component.
The heat adherent resin coater 40 is a printing or coating machine utilizing known
printing and coating methods such as a typographic printing, gravure printing, silk
screen printing, offset printing or the like.
[0052] By the heat adherent resin coater 40, the heat adherent resin 24a is printing or
coating on the surface of the primer layer 22.
[0053] The base material 18 onto which the heat adherent resin 24a is printed or coated
is led to a dryer 42, whereby the heat adherent resin 24a is dried and the first heat
adherent resin layer 24 is formed.
[0054] Thus, as shown in Fig. 4, the covering material 14 of the postcard stuff 10 is formed
with the suppression layer 20, the primer layer 22 and the heat adherent resin layer
24 on the surface of the base material 18.
[0055] The continuous postcard stuff 10 is wound round a take-up roller 44 again.
[0056] In this embodiment, as shown in Fig. 2A and Fig. 4, the suppression layer 20 is formed
on one main surface of the base material 18, the primer layer 22 is formed on the
surface of the suppression layer 20, and the heat adherent resin layer 24 is formed
on the surface of the primer layer 22. The adhesion of the heat adherent resin layer
24 is increased by the primer layer 22. Therefore, the heat adherent resin layer 24
is adhered strongly to the base material 18, and adhered weakly to the postcard material
12.
[0057] When the aluminum foil and the like having a good suppressiveness is selected as
the base material 18, the suppression layer 20 is not necessary. In this case, the
primer layer 22 is formed on one main surface of the base material 18.
[0058] Further, as a material of the postcard stuff 10, a rolled continuous paper is selected,
but a loose paper, that is to say, a separated paper may be selected.
[0059] Also, on the base material 18, any suitable printing which fits to properties of
the postcard may be performed, or When the continuous material is used as aforesaid
embodiments, for example, a detecting mark(arrow) for detecting feeding pitches of
the base material 18 may be printed with a black color or the like.
[0060] Subsequently, this postcard stuff 10 is led to a covering material sticking apparatus
sticking this covering material 14 to the postcard material 12. At this time, to cover
a confidential matter such as a residual amount deposited in a bank which is formed
on part of the surface of the postcard with the covering material 14, it is necessary
to print proper characters in advance on a proper place, for example, the lower column
of the postcard material.
[0061] In addition, in the case of making this covering material 14 adhere, for example,
to the lower column of the postcard, as shown in Fig. 5, the postcard stuff 10 is
fed sequentially, and it is folded back at the boundary between the postcard material
12 portion and the covering material 14 portion, and the covering material 14 and
the postcard material 12 are bonded. Then, the surface of postcard stuff 10 is pressed
by a pressing roller, and the covering material 14 is stuck to the surface of the
postcard material 12. Then, the postcard stuff 10 is cut in a proper size, and the
postcard of the present invention is formed.
[0062] In the adhered covering material 14, the adherent resin layer 24 is adhered strongly
to the base material 18, and suppression layer 20 is adhered weakly to the postcard
material 12. Thus, as shown in Fig. 1A and Fig. 1B, the covering material 14 can be
peeled off relatively easily from the postcard material 12 by cutting it.
[0063] Also, the covering material 14 can be peeled off relatively easily by not cutting.
[0064] And, the lottery part 16a and the confidential matter 16b formed on a surface of
the postcard material 12 can be seeing.
[0065] Fig. 6A and Fig. 6B are views showing an another embodiment of the present invention,
in which Fig. 6A is a perspective view therof, and Fig. 6B is a sectional view thereof.
[0066] In this embodiment, cuts 26a and 26b forming with parforations are formed specifically
in the upside and the downside of the base material 18, the suppression layer 20,
the primer layer 22 and the heat adherent resin layer 24. The cuts 26a and 26b are
formed by a perforator including a cutter roll so-called die roll or by a perforator
including a die cutter having a cutter blade.
[0067] In this embodiment, when the center portion of the covering material 14 in the up-and-down
direction is peeled off, as shown in Fig. 7A and Fig. 7B, the center portion can be
peeled off relatively easily from the postcard material 12 by cutting the covering
material 14 at the cuts 26a and 26b. Then, the lottery part 16a and the confidential
matter 16b on the surface of the postcard material 12 can be seeing.
[0068] Fig. 8A and Fig. 8B are perspective views showing a separate embodiment of the present
invention, in which Fig. 8A is a perspective view thereof, and Fig. 8B is a sectional
view thereof. In this embodiment, a separate cut 26c is formed specifically in the
base material 18, the suppression layer 20, the primer layer 22 and the heat adherent
resin layer 24 on the inside of the cut 26b. The cut 26c is formed by a die roll together
with the cuts 26a and 26b. Furthermore, a half circle cut portion 26d is formed at
one end of the base material 18, the suppression layer 20, the primer layer 22 and
the heat adherent resin layer 24 in between the cuts 26b and 26c.
[0069] In this embodiment, when the center portion of the covering material 14 in the up-and-down
direction is peeled off, as shown in Fig. 9A and Fig. 9B, a narrow portion between
the cuts 26b and 26c is peeled off, first. In this case, the narrow portion between
the cuts 26b and 26c can be peeled off easily by hooking a finger to the cut portion
26d. Then, the lottery part 16a and the confidential matter 16b can be seen by bending
the center portion of the covering material 14 in the up-and-down direction at the
cut 26a or by cutting it at the cut 26a.
[0070] Meanwhile, in the embodiment shown in Fig. 8A and Fig. 8B a projection extending
to the outside in between the cuts 26b and 26c may be formed in place of the cut portion
26d. Thus, the narrow portion of the covering material 14 is peeled off more easily
by hooking the projection.
[0071] Also, a center portion of the covering material 14 may be formed so as to peel off
from the postcard material 12 by forming a cut along the surrounding of the base material
18, the suppression layer 20, the primer layer 22 and the heat adherent resin layer
24,
[0072] Also, the lottery part 16a and the confidential matter 16b may be formed on the surface
of the suppression layer 20 or the surface of the postcard material 12 when having
the the suppression layer 20, and may be formed on one main surface of the base material
18 or the surface of the postcard material 12 when not having the suppression layer
20.
[0073] Fig. 10 is a sectional view showing a postcard as a separate embodiment of the present
invention.
[0074] Fig. 11 is a sectional view showing a state which a covering material of the aforementioned
embodiment is cut and is peeled off from the postcard material.
[0075] This postcard comprises a postcard stuff 10. The postcard stuff 10 comprises a postcard
material 12 formed in the size of the goverment postcard, and a covering material
12 stuck to part of this postcard material 12. The covering material 14 is formed
integral with the postcard material 12 in a manner of extending from one end thereof
and is stuck to the postcard material 12 in a folded-back fashion.
[0076] A lottery part 16a wherein are shown letters such as "winning" or "blank" and a confidential
matter 16b such as a information of the finance or the insurance are formed on the
surface of the postcard material 12.
[0077] The covering material 14 comprises a base material 18 formed integral with the postcard
material 12 in a manner of extending from one end thereof.
[0078] The base material 18 is formed with a relatively soft material such as paper, synthetic
resin film and the like which can be cut by a scissors or the like. And on one main
surface of the base material 18 a suppression layer 20 is formed.
[0079] On the surface of the suppression layer 20, a primer layer 27 for increasing an adhesion
of a heat adherent resin layer 28 discribed layer is formed. The primer layer 27 is
formed by coating a resin such as vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer on the surface
of the suppression layer 20.
[0080] On the surface of the primer layer 27, the first heat adherent resin layer 28 is
formed by coating a heat adherent resin with a weak adhesive strength as heating and
extruding it, or by gravure or silk screen printing as dissolving it in a solvent
or despersing in water and the firsts heat adherent resin layer 28 has a weak adhesive
strength.
[0081] The first heat adherent resin layer 28 is formed to melt at about 100°c to 200°C
so as to be adhered to the postcard material 12 made of paper or the like with a weak
adhesive strength.
[0082] As an example of said heat adherent resin having a weak adhesive strength, the same
adhesives as adhesives of the aforementioned embodiment shown in Fig. 1 may be selected.
[0083] Further, on the surface of the first heat adherent resin layer 28, a second heat
adherent resin layer 29 having a strong adhesive strength is formed. In this embodiment,
the second heat adherent resin layer 29 is formed at both sides in the lengthwise
direction of the postcard material 12, that is, in the fixed width at the upside and
downside of the covering material 14. Moreover, the second heat adherent resin layer
29 is formed at both sides in the breadthwise direction of the postcard material 12,
that is, at right and left ends of the covering material 14 in spots. The second heat
adherent resin layer 29 is formed by coating a heat adherent resin having a strong
adhesive strength, for example adhesives of EVA group, stylene-butadiene-stylene copolymer,
stylene-isoprele-stylene copolymer in parts.
[0084] In this case, for example, the tackifier is mixed more as compared with the heat
adherent resin having a weak adhesive strength or the release agent is mixed less
as compared with the heat adherent resin having a weak adhesive strength, in the heat
adherent resin having a strong adhesive strentgth. The second heat adherent resin
layer 29 may be formed at only both sides of upside and downside or both right side
and left sides of the covering material 14.
[0085] In this case, the second heat adherent resin layer 28 may be formed in a fixed width
or spots.
[0086] Next, a method of manufacturing the postcard shown in Fig. 10 will be explaned.
[0087] First, continuous paper for forming the postcard stuff 10 is prepared. The postcard
material 12 portion and the base material 18 portion are formed continuously in the
direction of width of this continuous paper. Accordingly, the length of the continuous
paper in the direction of width is a sum of the length of the postcard material 12
and the length of the base material 18.
[0088] As showing Fig. 12, a rolled laminate comprising the postcard stuff 10 formed with
the suppression layer 20 is mounted on a hold roller 132 of a manufacturing machine
130 for the covering material.
[0089] The postcard stuff 10 held by the hold roller 132, is loosen at one end and led to
a resin coater 134. The resin coater 134 is designed to print or coat the resin 27a
such as the aforesaid vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer on the suppression layer
20 of the base material 18.
[0090] The base material 18 onto which the resin 22a is printed or coated is then guided
to a dryer 136, whereby the resin 22a is dried and the primer layer 27 is formed.
[0091] Next, the postcard stuff 10 formed with the primer layer 27 is directed to a heat
adherent resin coater 140 for printing or coating the heat adherent resin 28a with
a weak adhesion containing, for example, the aforesaid ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymerized
resin as a main component. The heat adherent resin coater, 140 is a printing or coating
machine utilizing known printing and coating methods such as a typographic printing,
gravure printing, silk screen printing, offset printing or the like.
[0092] By the heat adherent resin coater 140, the heat adherent resin 28a having a weak
adhesive power is printing or coating on the surface of the primer layer 27.
[0093] The postcard stuff 10 onto which the heat adherent resin 28a is printed or coated
is led to a dryer 142, whereby the heat adherent resin 28a is dried and the first
heat adherent resin layer 28 is formed.
[0094] Then, the postcard stuff 10 formed with the first heat adherent resin layer 28 or
the like led to a heat adherent resin coater 144 for printing or coating the heat
adherent resin 29a having the strong adhesion. The heat adherent resin coater 144
is a printing or coating machine utilizing known printing and coating methods such
as a typographic printing, gravure printing, silk screen printing, offset printing
or the like. By the heat adherent resin coater 144, the heat adherent resin 29a having
the strong adhesion is printed or coated partially on the surface of the first heat
adherent resin layer 28.
[0095] The postcard stuff 10 onto which the heat adherent resin 29a is printed or coated
is led to a dryer 146, whereby the adherent resin 29a is dried and the second heat
adherent resin layer 29 is formed.
[0096] Thus, as shown in Fig. 10, the postcard stuff 10 is formed with the base material
18 on which the suppression layer 20, the primer layer 27, the first heat adherent
resin layer 28 and the second heat adherent resin layer 29 is formed in order.
[0097] The postcard stuff 10 is wound round the take-up roller 148 again.
[0098] In this embodiment, as shown in Fig. 10, the suppression layer 20 is formed on one
main surface of the base material 18, the primer layer 27 is formed on the surface
of the suppression layer 20, and the first heat adherent resin layer 28 is formed
on the surface of the primer layer 27. The adhesion of the first heat adherent resin
layer 28 is increased by the primer layer 27. Therefore, the first heat adherent resin
layer 28 is adhered strongly to the base material 18.
[0099] In this embodiment, the second heat adherent resin layer 29 is formed on a surface
of the first heat adherent resin layer 28 in the fixed width at the upside and downside
of the covering material 14. Moreover, the second heat adherent resin layer 29 is
formed on a surface of the first heat adherent resin layer 28 at right and left ends
of the covering material 14 in spots.
[0100] Therefore, at a portion which the second heat adherent resin layer 29 is formed,
the covering material 14 is adhered to a postcard material 12 strongly, and at a portion
which the second heat adherent resin layer 29 is not formed, the covering material
14 is adhered to it weakly.
[0101] Thus, as shown in Fig. 11, at the portion where the second heat adherent resin layer
29 is not formed, the base material 18, the suppression layer 20, the primer layer
27 and the first heat adherent resin layer 28 can be relatively easily cut and peeled
off from the postcard material 12. In this case, at a portion which the second heat
adherent resin layer 29 is formed in spots the base material 18, the suppression layer
20, the primer layer 27 and the first heat adherent resin layer 28 can be relatively
easily peeled off. Then, the lottery part 16a and the confidential matter 16b on the
surface of the postcard material 12 can be seeing.
[0102] Fig. 13 is a sectional view showing a separate embodiment of the instant invention.
In this embodiment, cuts 26a and 26b forming with parforations are formed specifically
along the surrounding of the second heat adherent resin layer 28 in the upside and
the downside of the base material 18, the suppression layer 20, the primer layer 22
and the first heat adherent resin layer 28.
[0103] In this embodiment, as shown in Fig. 14, the base material 18, the suppression layer
20, the primer layer 27 and the first heat adherent resin layer 28 can be peeled off
relatively easily from the postcard material 12 by cutting at the cuts 26a and 26b,
in a portion where the second heat adherent resin layer 28 is not formed. Then, the
lottery part 16a and the confidential matter 16b on the surface of the postcard material
12 can be seeing.
[0104] In the aforementioned embodiment, the cut is formed along the surrounding of the
covering material, a center portion of the covering material can be cut by the cut.
[0105] In this case, as shown in Fig. 15, when each cuts are constituted with a linear cut
portion 224a and a curvilinear cut portion 224b respectively so as to overlap a part
of one cut 224 and a part of the next cut 224 in a direction for peelingoff the covering
mateial 212, the center portion of the covering material 212 can be peeled off easily.
In addition, for peeling off the center portion of the covering material 312 easily,
as shown in Fig. 16, for example, each linear cuts 324 may be formed along edges of
the base material 314 on a slant so as to overlap a part of one cut 324 and a part
of the next cut 324 in a direction for peeling off the covering material 312.
[0106] In the postcard shown in Fig. 15 and Fig. 16, by pulling the covering material between
the adjacent perforations is broken as the direction thereof is shown by an arrow
of dash-dot line, and the covering material of the portion encompassed by the perforation
is peeled off.
[0107] However, as shown in Figs. 15 and 16, the same covering material as the postcard
material may be formed and the covering material may be formed so as to be stuck to
cover the whole surface of said postcard material.
[0108] While the present invention has been particularly described and shown, it is to be
understood that it is for the purpose of illustration and example and not for limitation.
The spirit snd scope of the invention is therefore to be determined solely by the
accompanying claims.
Industrial Applicability
[0109] The adhesion of the heat adherent resin layer is increased by the primer layer. Therefore,
the heat adherent resin layer is adhered strongly to the base material or the suppression
layer, and is adhered weakly to the postcard material. Then, the surface of the postcard
is covered with the base material of the postcard including the base material having
the suppressiveness or with the suppression layer of the postcard including the suppression
layer having the suppressiveness.
[0110] When peeled off the base material, the base material, the primer layer and the heat
adherent resin layer are peeled off from the postcard material in the postcard including
the base material having the suppressiveness, while, the base material, the suppression
layer, the primer layer and the heat adherent resin layer are peeled off from the
postcard material in the postcard including the suppression layer having the supprssiveness.
Therefore, the surface of the postcard material can be seeing.
[0111] The first heat adherent resin layer is adhered weakly to a postcard material and
the second heat adherent resin layer is adhered strongly to the postcard material.
[0112] Also, the adhesion of the first heat adherent resin layer is increased by the primer
layer. Therefore, the first heat adherent resin layer is adhered strongly to the base
material or the suppression layer. Therefore, the base material is not accidentally
peeled off from the material to be sticked with a force applied to the second heat
adherent resin layer. Then, the surface of the postcard material is covered with the
base material of the postcard material including the base material having the suppressiveness
or with the suppression layer of the postcard material including the suppression layer
having the suppressiveness.
[0113] When peeled off the base material, the base material, the primer layer and the first
heat adherent resin layer are peeled off from the postcard material in the postcard
material including the base material having the suppressiveness, while, the base mateial,
the suppression layer, the primer layer and the first heat adherent resin layer are
peeled off the postcard material in the postcard material including the suppression
layer having the suppressiveness. Therefore, the surface of the postcard material
can be seeing.
[0114] According to the present invention, a postcard which is able to cover preferably
and temporarily an information matter of the surface of the postcard material without
any process on the surface of the postcard material, and a manufacturing method thereof
are obtained.
