    (54) Friction material and method of manufacturing therefor

    (57) A friction material and a method of manufacturing therefor by which problem on hygienic environment can be solved and brake noise at the time of braking can be effectively prevented while preventing reduction of braking due to decrease of a friction coefficient as possible as it can. The friction material is granulated by a binder and includes an inorganic substance having a plane netlike crystal structure which configuration of the granulation is deformed flat by both or either of pressure and heat during the formation. Accordingly, the inorganic substance having the plane netlike crystal structure causes microseparation to easily occur in the friction surface, whereby the friction material effectively preventing brake noise in braking can be obtained.
