Unidirectional thin glass prepreg |
(57) A glass prepreg is made by forming a roving by a single operation of converging monofilaments
of glass fiber into a strand or roving the monofilaments of which are arranged in
an orderly manner without being twisted or doubled, disposing such rovings unidirectionally
on a thin resin-coated base sheet, or sandwiching them unidirectionally between two
such base sheets; and causing the resin coating fully and homogeneously to permeate
the monofilaments of the rovings.
The monofilaments employed have diameters in the range of 10 to 20 µm and the prepreg
has a thickness in the range of 50 to 150 µm
