    (57) A plate mounting apparatus for a printing press for winding a plate (89, 105) around the circumferential surface of a plate cylinder (1), the plate (89, 105) having one end fixed to one fixing unit (5) arranged in a gap (2) in the circumferential surface, and for fixing the other end of the plate (89, 105) to the other fixing unit (30) arranged in the gap (2) in the circumferential surface, includes a guide roller (125) and a press roller (118). The guide roller (125) opposes the circumferential surface of the plate cylinder (1) and corresponds to one fixing unit (5) at the time of insertion of the plate into one fixing unit (5). The press roller (118) is detachably supported on the circumferential surface of the plate cylinder (1) and brought into rolling contact with the circumferential surface so as to correspond to the other fixing unit (30) at the time of insertion of the plate into the other fixing unit (30).
