Heat-adhesive composite fiber and nonwoven fabric made by using same |
(57) A heat-adhesive synthetic composite fiber useful as a bonding fiber for producing
a nonwoven fabric by a wet sheet-forming method, comprises (A) an ethylene-vinyl alcohol
copolymer filamentary constituent and (B) a metal sulfonate group-containing copolyester
filamentary constituent incorporated to the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer filamentary
constituent (A) to form a composite fiber; the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer filamentary
constituent being exposed to the outside in at least a portion of the peripheral surface
of the composite fiber.
