    (54) Knitting machine


    (57) A knitting machine which moves a cylindrical or conical needle bed (13) relative to a knitting actuating device (35). A multiplicity of knitting needles (18) are arranged about the circumferential periphery of the needle bed at predetermined intervals. A knitting actuating device (35) is disposed in the vicinity of the needle bed (13) for causing each knitting needle (18) to perform a knitting action. A driver rotates at least one of the needle bed and the knitting actuating device relative to the other every time the individual knitting needles are driven by the knitting actuating device.
