    (54) Portable terminal computer


    (57) A portable terminal computer includes a main body (1) having operation means and input/output means of its own and which can be carried separately and is to be connected to a host computer through communication means, and an optional unit to be connected to the main body (1). The optional unit (6) is provided with a connector (15) for connecting the main body (1) by means of a wiring, a guide (8) serving as a guide in the connection to the main body (1), and a lock pawl (9) provided for a coupling to said main body (1) and having lock releasing means (17). The main body (1) includes a guide inserting slot (10) in which the guide (8) is inserted, a pawl inserting slot (11) in which the lock pawl (9) is inserted and an engagement portion (30) for engaging the lock pawl (9). The above-described structure allows smooth attachment and detachment of the main body (1) to and from the optional unit (6), thereby preventing malfunction and trouble to occur.
