    (54) Electrophotographic apparatus

    (57) An electrophotographic apparatus comprises a printing section, having a photosensitive drum to be replaced when its service life expires, for forming an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive drum, developing the electrostatic latent image by applying developer to the photosensitive drum, and transferring the developed image on a sheet of print paper, a nonvolatile recording section (RD) for storing at least print number data representing the number of prints made by the photosensitive drum, and a display (OP) for informing that the print number data stored in the recording section (RD) reaches an allowable print number determined in accordance with the service life of the photosensitive drum. The electrophotographic apparatus further comprises a control circuit (31, 32, 33) for setting the print number data stored in the recording section (RD) to a value close to the allowable print number when the operation of the display (87) is checked.
