(57) The present invention provides an image forming apparatus comprising, an image bearing member (1); an image forming means (I) for forming an image on the image bearing member (1); a transfer sheet bearing means (2) for bearing and conveying a transfer sheet (S), to which a first voltage is applied for transferring the image formed on the image bearing member (1) onto the transfer sheet (S) supported by the transfer sheet bearing means (2); and a discharging means (3) for causing the discharge in the transfer sheet (S) when the transfer sheet (5) is separated from the transfer sheet bearing means (2), to which a second voltage having the same polarity as that of the first voltage and having a value equal to 80 % - 120 % of the first voltage is applied.
