BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a device for thickening and lengthening hair.
[0002] As is known, there are commercially available false hair arrangements, wigs and the
like provided for application to the scalp, both for thickening hair and covering
hair lacking regions.
[0003] These known hair arrangements, however, are so designed that they can be only applied
by skilled persons since, if they are directly applied by an user, then the provision
of a false hair arrangement would be easily seen.
[0004] Moreover, for thickening hair there are also known several hair implant methods which,
however, can be carried out exclusively by a surgical operation which obviously requires
a skilled labour.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005] Accordingly, the aim of the present invention is to overcome the above mentioned
drawbacks by providing a device for thickening and lengthening hair which can be directly
applied by the user by very simple applying operations and which, moreover, can be
quickly and easily removed from the user scalp.
[0006] Within the scope of the above mentioned aim, a main object of the present invention
is to provide such a hair thickening and lengthening device which allows the possibility
of varying, within a comparatively broad range, the hair type and amount being added
depending on the user requirements.
[0007] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide such a hair thickening
and lengthening device which can be easily made starting from easily available elements
and materials and which, moreover, has a very reduced cost.
[0008] According to one aspect of the present invention, the above mentioned aim and objects,
as well as yet other objects, which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved
by a device for thickening and lengthening hair, characterized in that said device
comprises a coupling joint, including a first element to be associated with a lock
connected to the scalp, and a second element to be removably coupled to the first
element and firmly supporting an additional hair lock, either of a natural or a synthetic
type.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0009] Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become more apparent
from the following detailed description of a preferred, though not exclusive, embodiment
thereof, which is illustrated, by way of an indicative but not limitative example,
in the accompanying drawings, where:
Figure 1 schematically shows the device for thickening and lengthening hair according
to the invention, as applied to an user scalp:
Figure 2 shows a coupling step for coupling the two elements forming the subject device;
and
Figure 3 shows the second element of the device to which there is firmly applied an
additional hair lock.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0010] With reference to the figures of the accompanying drawings, the device for thickening
and lengthening hair according to the invention, comprises a coupling joint, overally
indicated at the reference number 1, which includes a first element 2, comprising
a female sleeve-shaped element, in the inside of which a natural hair lock 3 can be
engaged, the hair lock being connected to the scalp.
[0011] The female element 2 can be applied to the free end portions of the hair coupled
to the scalp, if the subject device is to be used for lengthening hair or it can be
caused to slide to the bottom of the lock 3 if the device is to be used as a hair
thickening device proper.
[0012] With the female element 2 there is associated a further element, or male element
5, which is provided with a fitting end piece 6 which can be pressure engaged, with
a screw type of engagement type, in the female element 2 so as to provide a firm locking
which, in actual practice, restrains firmly the female element 2 on the lock 3; this
coupling, on the other hand, is of a removable type, since it will be sufficient to
disengage the stem 6 of the male element 5 in order to release the coupling.
[0013] The male element 5 is further provided, at a longitudinal end thereof, with a flange
region 7 to which there are coupled a plurality of hair elements, indicated at 10,
which can comprise either natural or synthetic hair.
[0014] Thus, the user can easily and quickly apply one or more additional hair locks to
this/her natural hair, coupled to the scalp, so as to provide, depending on the application,
either a thickening or a lengthening of the natural hair.
[0015] To the foregoing it is to be added that the device can be made with a very small
size so as to be easily concealed within the natural hair.
[0016] Advantageously the male element is made of a moplen-polypropylene copolymer, whereas
the female element is made of a plyurethane material.
[0017] The use of a plastic material for making the coupling joint provides good resiliency
properties facilitating the male element to penetrate the female element thereby providing
a firm coupling thereof.
[0018] Moreover, the engaging and disengaging of the two elements can be performed in a
very simple and quick way, directly by the user.
[0019] The invention as disclosed is susceptible to several modifications and variations
all of which will come within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.
[0020] While the invention has been disclosed and illustrated with reference to a preferred
embodiment thereof, it should be apparent that the disclosed embodiment is susceptible
to several modifications and variations all of which will come within the spirit and
scope of the appended claims.
