    (54) Thermal transfer recording apparatus and facsimile apparatus utilizing the same

    (57) There is disclosed a thermal transfer printer (102) utilizing a one-time ink sheet (14) or a multi-print ink sheet. In order to avoid sticking of the ink sheet and the recording sheet (11), for example at an interruption of facsimile transmission or at an interval of recording operations exceeding a predetermined time, the thermal head (13) is energized to maintain a high temperature state and then the recording paper is transported by a predetermined amount, thereby separating the ink sheet and the recording paper.
