(57) The selection system is based on the existence of a selector device (8) for each needle (6) which is provided with a selector slide member (14) moveable between two positions, in one of which it engages and moves a cancellation jack (10), determining in this way the selection of the corresponding needle (6). External means cyclically return the slide member (14) to the same position. The moving armature (38) of an electromagnet (30) either retains the slide member (14) in one position or releases it, depending on whether the electromagnet is energised by electronic control means.
