    (57) A rotary kiln system wherein oxidant injection means (7,8,12) are positioned at each stationary end (3,4) of the kiln and inject oxidant toward each other creating gas recirculation (17) within the rotary kiln (1) for improved mixing, combustion efficiency and temperature uniformity.
