[0001] The present invention relates to a set of active components for the clamping on a
pallet of a rough piece to be machined which incorporate the capacity of adjustment
in height and in angular orientation.
[0002] According to the known art described in the Italian patent application No. 22932
A/87 dated 10 December 1987 the active components of a clamping fixture for pieces
arranged on a supporting pallet are placed one above the other directly or through
a set of intermediate passive modular elements, which have a connecting function only,
to anchoring elements adjustable in height and in angular orientation inserted screwably
and unscrewably in corresponding threaded holes in the supporting pallet.
[0003] According to another solution described in an Italian patent application by the same
Applicant on the same date the possibility is provided of abolishing the intermediate
passive elements and of using, either as an alternative to or in combination with
one another, modular-type anchoring elements which can be placed one above the other,
two of which are adjustable in angular orientation and in height, respectively.
[0004] The object of the present invention is to accomplish a set of active components for
the clamping on a pallet of a rough piece to be machined which incorporate the capacity
of adjustment in height and in angular orientation.
[0005] According to the invention such object is attained through a set of active components
for the clamping on a pallet of a rough piece to be machined, characterized in that
it comprises a first and a second active component which can be directly inserted
and clamped in corresponding cavities of a pallet or other supporting element and
provided with operational parts adjustable in height and angular orientation, respectively.
[0006] In this way it is possible to do away with anchoring elements adjustable in height
and in angular orientation, placed between the pallet and the clamping fixture's active
components.
[0007] The features of the present invention shall be made more evident by the following
detailed description of an embodiment illustrated as a non-limiting example in the
enclosed drawings, wherein:
Fig. 1 illustrates an axial sectional view of an active component adjustable in height;
Fig. 2 illustrates an axial sectional view of an active component adjustable in angular
orientation.
[0008] With reference to Fig. 1, the active component is indicated as a whole with 1 and
comprises an internally hollow casing 2 terminating with a tang 13 inserted with a
small clearance in a cylindrical cavity 8 of a pallet or other supporting element
5 provided with a slot 4 for housing a fastening pin 3 integral with the casing 2.
In the casing 2 there is a bolt 21 with a hexagonal hollow head 6, which is screwed
into an internally threaded bush 7 arranged and clamped in cavity 8. A sealing gasket
23 is placed between the casing 2 and the support 5. Another sealing gasket 9 is placed
between the casing 2 and the bolt 21 to prevent the clamping fixture's control fluid,
supplied through a hole 22 communicating with the cavity 8 (as described in the abovementioned
patent application No. 22932 A/87 dated 10 December 1987), from seeping outside the
casing 2.
[0009] The operational part or cap 10 of the active component is screwed onto the casing
2 in a manner adjustable in height. In particular the adjustment is made by loosening
the bolt 21 and rotating the cap 10 until it reaches the desired height. The position
is lastly fixed by again screwing up the bolt 21 into the bush 7.
[0010] With reference to Fig. 2, the active component is indicated as a whole with 11 and
comprises an internally hollow casing 12 terminating with a tang 14 inserted with
a small clearance in a cylindrical cavity 15 of a pallet or other supporting element
16. In the casing 12 there is a bolt 24 with a hexagonal hollow head 17, which is
screwed in an internally threaded bush 18 arranged and clamped in cavity 15. A sealing
gasket 25 is placed between the casing 12 and the support 16.
[0011] The casing 12 of the component 11, provided by way of an example with an operational
part constituted by a lateral pin 19 screwed into a blind hole 20, is adjustable in
angular orientation. Adjustment is made by loosening the bolt 24 and rotating the
casing 12 until it reaches the desired angular position. The position is lastly fixed
by again screwing up the bolt 24.
1. Set of active components for the clamping on a pallet of a rough piece to be machined,
characterized in that it comprises a first and a second active component (1, 11) which
can be directly inserted and clamped in corresponding cavities (8, 15) of a pallet
or other supporting element (5, 16) and provided with operational parts (10, 19) adjustable
in height and angular orientation, respectively.
2. Set of active components according to claim 1, characterised in that said first component
(1) comprises a casing (2) which can be inserted into said cavity (8) and an operational
part (10) screwed in an adjustable manner on said casing (2) and which can be clamped
together with it with respect to said cavity (8) by means of an axial fastening bolt
(21) which can be screwed into an internally threaded bush (7) inserted amd clamped
inside said cavity (8).
3. Set of active components according to claim 2, characterised in that it comprises
means (3, 4) suitable for preventing the rotation of said casing (2) with respect
to said supporting element (5).
4. Set of active components according to claim 1, characterised in that said second component
(11) comprises a casing (12) supporting said operational part (19), which is rotatably
inserted in said cavity (15) and which can be clamped inside it in an angular positione
adjustable by means of an axial fastening bolt (24) which can be screwed into an internally
threaded bush (18) inserted and clamped inside said cavity (15).
