The antenna beam of a group of laterally spaced array antennas (110,112,114,116,118) is steered and the beam shape is controlled by relative shifting (122) of the centers of radiation of the arrays. Beam tilting in a fuselage mounted system of array antennas uses controlled selection of active antennas.
