(57) Wool containing wool grease is scoured by a method including a hot suint bowl treatment,
which method comprises the steps of (a) treating the wool with an aqueous medium containing
a building agent capable of reducing the level of free calcium and/or magnesium therein
and having a temperature of at least 45°C and thereafter (b) treating the wool with
an aqueous medium having a pH of at least 8, containing a detergent and having a temperature
of at least 45°C.
