(57) An air vent comprising an assembly consisting of a front member (3, 8), a valve member
(21; 28) and a retaining member (22; 30), which members are made of a plate-shaped
material and each provided with the same pattern of vent openings (16, 24, 25, 26,
29, 31), the front member and the retaining member being rigidly mounted relative
to each other and having vent openings in line, the valve member being slidable between
the two other members so that the air vent can assume an open, closed or partly opened
position. Preferably, two of such assemblies have been coupled to form a hollow, box-like
element, in which pressure equalizing bores (35, 37) can connect the hollow inner
space with the surroundings and one of the assemblies (8) is detachable and of the
other assembly the valve and retaining members (28, 30) are demountable.
