    (57) A recording apparatus for recording images on a recording medium (11) has ink sheet conveying means for conveying the ink sheet (14), recording medium conveying means for conveying the recording medium (11), recording means for causing the ink sheet (14) to be activated for performing image recording on the recording medium (11), detection means (19,20) for detecting the conveying state of the ink sheet (14), and adjustment means for adjusting the conveying amount of the ink sheet (14) in accordance with the information regarding the conveying state of the ink sheet (14) detected by the detection means (19,20). Hence enabling the prevention of any adhesion of the recording medium (11) and ink sheet (14) to eliminate image omissions and density irregularities in performing the image recording. The prevention of their adhesion will result in the improvement of the quality of the image recording as well as contribute to reducing the trouble caused by an ink sheet or recording medium cut off.
